The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering has been established very recently. The Department offers four year undergraduate courses in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and has plans to start graduate courses in the near future. The courses cover subjects like Electrical Machines, Electronic Signal & systems, Computational Methods for Engineering Problems, Electromagnetic Fields and waves, Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution, telecommunication engineering, Control System, Power System Analysis etc. The courses have been designed so that students graduating from this department have a balance of theory and practical skills to prepare them for the highly competitive workplace. In spite of resource constraints, care is taken so that high teaching quality is maintained at each stage of education. The Electrical & Electronic Engineering program is interdisciplinary. It requires a blend of knowledge from the areas of Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, and Telecommunication Engineering. Students in Electrical Engineering are given an opportunity to learn and extend their abilities to analyze and solve complex problems and to design new uses of technology to serve today’s society.
